GLP-1 Medical Weight Management
What Is GLP-1?

GLP-1 refers to a class of medications used in medical practice to support weight management and metabolic health.
These medications work by:
• Supporting appetite regulation
• Slowing gastric emptying
• Assisting with portion control
• Supporting healthy metabolic response
GLP-1 therapy is not appropriate for everyone and requires provider evaluation prior to initiation.
Who May Be a Candidate?

You may be considered for GLP-1 therapy if:
• You meet clinical criteria for medical weight management
• Lifestyle modification alone has not produced desired results
• A licensed provider determines it is medically appropriate
All patients undergo a medical assessment prior to treatment approval.
What to Expect
Patients receiving GLP-1 therapy are monitored regularly in our office.
Follow up visits occur weekly to monthly depending on treatment phase and clinical need.
During follow up visits, providers assess:
• Clinical response
• Tolerance
• Side effects
• Weight progress
• Overall health status
Medication continuation and refills require provider approval and are not automatic.
Important Information Regarding Compounded Medications
Some GLP-1 medications may be prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy when a commercially available product is not appropriate for a specific patient.
Compounded medications:
• Are available by prescription only
• Are prepared pursuant to a provider’s prescription
• Are not reviewed or approved by the FDA
• Are compounded when clinically appropriate for individual patients
No claim is made that compounded medications are equivalent to any FDA-approved branded drug product.
Treatment decisions are based on provider assessment and patient specific clinical needs.
Medical Oversight
All GLP-1 therapies are prescribed by licensed Nurse Practitioners practicing under physician oversight.
Our providers conduct in person evaluations and ongoing monitoring to ensure safe and appropriate use.
Schedule a Consultation
If you are interested in medically supervised weight management, schedule an in-office consultation to determine whether GLP-1 therapy may be appropriate for you.
All treatment decisions are made following clinical evaluation.
