Increase Body Mass and Utilization of Body Fat
WHAT IS FORSLEAN?
Forslean (coleus forskohlin), is a standardized extract from the roots of the coleus forskohlin plant, the only know plant source of Forslean.
FORSLEAN & WEIGHT LOSS
Forslean is a compound with versatile biological actions based on its ability to stimulate adenylate cyclase and cyclic AMP levels, Forslean allows stored fat to be used as energy and to help utilize readily available hormones to maintain and/or increase lean body mass.
The other factor relevant to the weight loss mechanism of Forslean involves its thyroid stimulating action, comparable in strength to thyrotropin or TSH2. The thyroid stimulating action of Forslean may also contribute to the increase in metabolic rate and theimogenesis.
Forslean may also be involved in regulating insulin secretion. Insulin, although well recognized for its metabolism of carbohydrates, is also involved in the metabolism of fats and proteins that are major contributors to body composition.
PROMOTING LEAN BODY MASS
The biochemical mechanism of maintaining or increasing lean body mass is related to the availability of cyclic AMP. By facilitating hormonal action, cyclic AMP may regulate the body’s thermogenic response to food, increase the body’s basic metabolic rate, and increase utilization of body fat.
WHAT IS ACETYL L-CARNITINE?
Acetyl L-Carnitine has a chemical structure very comparable to the essential nutrient, choline. It is similar to a tri-methylated amino acid; however, it does not contain the amino group. Because of its similarity to amino acids, l-carnitine was incorrectly labeled as an amino acid, however, it is actually a co-enzyme. Co-enzymes are non-protein compounds or molecules that combine with a protein to form an active enzyme. In the body, l-carnitine acts as a co-enzyme for the transformation of free long-chained fatty acids into acyl-carnitines. Acyl-carnitines are next transported in the mitochondria, to undergo oxidation for cellular energy production. Inadequate levels of this important nutrient in the diet, or inadequate precursors can thus lead to mitochondrial dysfunction.
ACETYL L-CARNIT1NE VS. L-CARNITINE
Acetyl L-Carnitine is absorbed quicker than 1-carnitine, passes more easily through cell membranes, and is utilized more efficiently in the mitochondria of the cell.
HOW IT WORKS
Acetyl L-Carnitine assists in the transport of fat through the cell membrane and into the mitochondria within the cell, where the fats are oxidized, resulting in the production of cellular energy (ATP).
• quickly improves mental focus
• enhances short-and-long term memory
• protects the brain from stress
• increases energy production

THE ROLE OF DEXPANTHENOL
VITAMIN B-5 (Dexpanthenol) is added for its role as a co-enzyme. It participates in the release of energy from carbohydrates, fats and proteins. It is essential for the synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and fatty acids.
ACETYL L – CARNITINE: AN IMPORTANT NUTRIENT PROMOTING WEIGHT LOSS
Increasing acetyl l-carnitine intake is a natural way to support weight loss because it picks up fat and puts in the part of the cell that burns it off without any side effects. Scientific evidence shows increased levels of acetyl l-carnitine lead to increased fat burning. Acetyl l-carnitine also helps increase metabolic rate while maintaining levels of muscle tissue. This is crucial, because muscle tissue is where you do most of our fat burning. Acetyl-L-Carnitine is also useful for eliminating cravings and increasing the amount of energy you have to exercise, both of which are very helpful for those who are trying to lose weight.
